There was never an upgrade for the SX3 users - basically, we were going to have to BUY Cubase 4 if we wanted to use our Intel based machines & Cubase! and then finally something happened: Cubsae 4 came out! On the Cubase forums - there were users saying that there would be something released which would allow us to use SX3 on Intel based machines (an upgrade). One day Apple decided to come out of the closet and announce they were going to have Intel-based laptops coming out - and of course I jumped on one the first time I saw it. For reasons of this and that - I enjoyed using it (for the most part). allow me a moment to tell a not-so-quick story: I think they just got the beta for pt 7 working in leopard Yea but when will it be available for mac/ leopard! The less "hey, how come Logic can't do what PT does" and "hey, how come PT can't do what Logic does" there is to deal with, the better off for those of us who work in a world where files are routinely xferred between PT and Logic on a regular basis. Maybe it'll get Apple off of it's butt to fix some of the long-standing problems with Logic.īut if nothing else, it might make it easier for people to switch back and forth between platforms. So personally, I don't think it's funny at all. If it works as advertised, it could be a threat.

It could also potentially draw back PT users who have switched to Logic. So if it has similar features and similar looks, its' going to be an immediate draw. No one likes to have to change their workflow or sense of familiarity. It's a shrewd move on Digi's part, and one that will immediately attract Logic and Cubase users. I think it looks like Protools is playing catch upĮveryone copies everyone else in this biz. But don't you think it funny that protools is only now adding features that Logic have always had, Like Score Editors, Midi Editors, Quick Comping, tons of virtual instruments, A Guitar Amp Simulator, All this stuff has been in Logic for years.
